If you live in NYC and go to Broadway or attend plays in Central Park, you might have seen Jonathan Groff’s work. That’s because Jonathan has been in plays like Spring Awakening, Hair, and In My Life over the past few years and has even been nominated for a Tony Award. The 25 year old gay & out Pennsylvania native’s other stage work includes the Broadway musical In My Life and regional tours of The Sound of Music, Fame, Bat Boy, and Honk! – he’s definitely on the fast track and now has the role of Jesse St. James in Glee.
Anyway, perhaps due to his rising stock on Broadway, Ang Lee cast Jonathan for a key role in Taking Woodstock, where he played the role of Michael Lang – one of the people that made the Woodstock Festival in 1969 happen at the age of 24. Taking Woodstock has finally made it’s way to Cinemax on cable television and after watching Jonathan I became mesmerized which inspired me to make this post. Jonathan is truly one HOT hippie boy in this film!
If you haven’t already had the opportunity to see Taking Woodstock, then you truly are missing out on a really GAY movie.
