Barbra Streisand Answers A Few Questions

In the fight for equality, sometimes we can get so wrapped up in the present, that we forget that this fight has been going on for decades. There are few other people who have been unabashed advocates for equality and Ms. Barbra Streisand has been at the forefront of the fight for her entire career. Recently Streisand was gracious to give a bit of her time to answer some questions for MatthewsPlace.com.
Barbra Streisand: I think some of the most creative, talented and innovative people in our industry come from the LGBT community. But we do have a long way to go in terms of making it comfortable and safe for gays and lesbians in the industry to be open and honest about who they are. There is still fear that being "out" in Hollywood could compromise an actor's career by affecting the kinds of roles or opportunities he or she is offered. But in acknowledging that reality, I do believe that we are moving forward and starting to break through the stereotypes and stigmas that once really inhibited actors from being true to themselves and having a successful career in the business. I look forward to the day when people are hired because they are the best person for the job and are not excluded from opportunities because of their sexual preference, gender, or ethnicity.

NOH8 Photographer Adam Bouska: The Autostraddle Interview

NOH8 Campaign photographer Adam Bouska talks to Jess, from Autostraddle about the night it all began, his surprise engagement to partner [and NOH8 visionary Jeff Parshley], his dream celebrities to shoot, why the hell Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert haven’t posed yet, backlash from the anti-gay contingent, and gearing up for the hot & sweaty Dinah Shore open shoot later this month. Last month, the NOH8 Campaign came to New York City, inviting any and all New Yorkers to strike a pose for gay marriage.
Jess: I noticed that there are some obvious omissions from the campaign, like Lady Gaga or Adam Lambert. I know you’ve reached out to them repeatedly via Twitter, why haven’t they participated?
A. Bouska: It’s tough, I can’t speak for them cause I’m not really sure. I haven’t had any direct contact with them, I mean there could be publicists in the middle. Many people have different reasons for not doing it because of their publicists, different fan bases that they don’t want to alienate. Though I don’t think that would be the case with Lady Gaga or Adam Lambert. I assume it’s just a busy schedule with them. I know Lady Gaga supports it, we’ve got pictures of her wearing our bracelets and stuff like that but we’ve reached out to her publicist and no response.

Ewan McGregor wants to do more nudity? We say, whatever makes him happy! [VOTE]:

Ewan McGregor gives a great interview to Out magazine this month, and one highlight is talking about making his privates public. “I always try not to limit myself in all respects,” McGregor tells Out. “Sexuality is just one of them. I could understand saying ‘I would never do gratuitous nudity.’ Wait. No. I probably would. I’d probably be quite happy to.” Well, Ewan, I think all of mankind – gay, straight, married, single, male, female – would agree this is probably a good idea. So to celebrate McGregor’s willingness to shed his clothes for the right role(s), we present this Just One Hot Minute poll of Hot or Not “little Ewan.” Vote now!

From Trials to Controversies, Brent Corrigan!

From trials to controversies, Brent Corrigan has gained as much notoriety off-screen as he has with his films. But the young star takes it all in his stride. He spoke with SX ahead of his Sydney appearance. Interview by Reg Domingo for SX Magazine Very few people in the adult entertainment industry have garnered as much attention and notoriety as Brent Corrigan (real name Sean Lockhart) has, whose journey to stardom and fame has been paved with media storms and controversies. From bestselling adult films and numerous accolades, to murder trials and uproar over his age, for the young actor, it’s been one eventful ride. These days, Corrigan, 23, is running his own production company while making inroads in mainstream film and writing, with several projects in the pipeline. But before then, he’s coming to Sydney in February to Sydney in February to appear at the Same Same Mardi Bar and Mardi Gras’ Queer Thinking. Ahead of his appearance, SX caught up with the Corrigan who spoke about his past, present and future. Without a doubt, your name is one of the most popular in the business. What is the story behind the origin of the name, ‘Brent Corrigan’? The name worked out extremely well for me, just by chance. My producer at the time pulled out a Playguy magazine with [porn star] Brent Everett on the cover and asked me what I thought about the name ‘Brent’. I said it was fine and agreed to it. Before the end of the weekend of that very first shoot, I pulled out a phone book to peruse some last name prospects. I wanted something that was consistent with my heritage, being a Scots-Irish boy. Corrigan is an Irish name, and Brent is a Scottish name. Though, I am told Brent is an uncommon Scottish alias. Tell us about the difference between Brent Corrigan and Sean Lockhart. Is there a bit of Brent in Sean, and a bit of Sean in Brent? The biggest difference between Brent Corrigan and the real me is the way I respond to people publicly. Sean Lockhart enjoys his anonymity and will even deny that he is Brent Corrigan when he's recognized walking down the street or working out in the gym. Brent Corrigan will talk to anyone and everyone and respond to almost any social stimuli. Much of who Brent Corrigan is, without a doubt, inside Sean Lockhart. The difference is, Brent Corrigan lets it all hang out with pride. Sean Lockhart is more reserved; more observant. Sean Lockhart was, and will always be, the actor and the artist. Brent Corrigan is the entertainer. There was some controversy regarding your disclosure of your age a few years ago. What can you remember about that experience, and the ensuing frenzy? What I remember most is feeling like I was being tugged several different directions. What many people chose to ignore was the fact that the producer knew all along how old I was. My then-lover and soon to be business partner advised me to come out with the truth upon heading into a new business venture. The underage work was wrong altogether and I was not of legal age or proper mind to make such a decision to be a part of the adult industry. Ultimately, the right thing to do was have it pulled. Today, I am deeply apologetic about the decision I made as a 17 year old boy - the decision to adult work before my time. It put an industry in flux and sent a very dangerous message to many young people at the time. With such a strong connection to the name ‘Brent Corrigan’, do you think there will ever be a day when you will no longer use it? Oh certainly!  I have no intentions of staying involved in the adult industry forever, or even much longer than I am now. My sincerest hope is that I can move forward enough with my mainstream work at a steady rate of evolution. Ideally, there will come a day in my career as an actor that directors and producers are giving me mainstream roles purely on the merit of my abilities or versatility as a real actor. But for now, I am primarily getting roles because I am Brent Corrigan. Generally, openly-gay actors can encounter hurdles when it comes to casting. It must be particularly challenging for gay porn actors. Do you think your past will affect your mainstream career, and if so, how do you feel about that? Yes, very true. Many gay actors have avoided the truth or topic of their sexuality altogether in an effort to remain relevant in the Hollywood. I have absolutely no designs on becoming the next big anything. I just want to act. I love queer films and I am perfectly at home playing a homo!  I was very well aware that the second I stepped foot on an adult set all of those open doors to Hollywood, those possibilities, would be lost. As I developed myself as an adult star, all the while revealing and sharing with the world that there was so much more to me than the physical, roles in mainstream films presented themselves to me. I accept Brent Corrigan will follow Sean Lockhart where ever he goes; that is a conscious concession I made when I chose to become who I am today. Owning it has done far more for me than trying to live it down.  Will I become the next big Disney Star? No, absolutely not. Do I care to? Double no. I like having an edge. I truly do believe it's one of the things I have to offer that most actors don't. You have a very intimate blog and website. Tell us your relationship with the art of writing? I've maintained a firm grasp of my voice and ability by writing almost regularly on a blog since I was 19. I know I have a lot to learn and I very much invite new challenges and opportunities to absorb more. Do I want to be a writer by profession? Not necessarily, but I do want to publish a few books. Ultimately, I want to take my affinity for the written word and apply it to writing screenplays. You’re currently writing a book. Tell us about that. I am working on a book chronicling, or detailing rather, much of my experiences since moving to San Diego at 16 years old. It will outline my life as an adult model my junior year in high school, starting my first adult company at 19, a civil suit and the onslaught of a producer hell-bent on leveling not only my reputation but my emotional foundation.  Of course, people tend to be most curious about things like the murder investigation I was a star witness in as well as how I managed to segue into mainstream oriented films. Needless to say, I have my hands full with it. Do you have any regrets? Yes, the one true regret I have is the bareback work I filmed when I was 17 and 18. Part of me regrets trusting some of my former business partners, but at the end of the day it's all life experience.  A few hard knocks are just inherently a part of the process when you go into business with people at 18 and 19 without proper education or experience. What’s next for Sean Lockhart/Brent Corrigan? I release my book late Spring 2010. I'm looking at doing a handful of plays and independent mainstream projects. A film I’m starring in, Judas Kiss, is out in August.  Until then, I'm doing a little bit of travelling and spending time with my loved ones.  Life is too short not to diversify a little! Is this your first time to Australia/Mardi Gras? What are you most excited about seeing/doing? Primarily, I plan to go with the flow. I want to get a feel for your architecture, the food and your parks and beaches. I love the outdoors and I'm going to figure out a way to get to Obelisk or Lady Jane Beach while I am there in Sydney. We have a nude beach here in San Diego but most of the cute, young boys refuse to take their shorts off.  I'm also going to Melbourne and would love to see the Yarra Valley – but who knows if I will have time to get out there. It would be a dream come true to go horseback riding out there. Tell us about Queer Thinking. Are you excited about taking part at the Mardi Gras event? I am very much excited to be speaking with the people of Sydney and Australia. I have never been to your fine country; let alone below the equator. I hope to learn something hands-on about your culture. I am extremely fascinated with how our community varies in relation to yours. Hopefully, in the process I can strike down some stereotypes and preconceived notions about actors or adult performers! You’re also appearing at the Same Same Mardi Bar. Tell us about that. I’m coming down under as a guest of the Cool Kids Club at Same Same Mardi Bar this year and just can’t wait. From what I hear, it was a lot of fun last year, and I’m really excited about being a part of it this year. For more information on Brent Corrigan, go to thenewbrentcorrigan.com. Brent Corrigan will be appearing exclusively at Mardi Bar on Wednesday, February 24, and Thursday, February 25. An initiative between SameSame.com.au and Cool Kids Club, Mardi Bar is open from February 26-March 6 at Nevermind (163 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst). Brent will also be appearing at an in-conversation session at Mardi Gras’ Queer Thinking on Friday, February 26 at the Seymour Centre (cnr City Road and Cleveland Street, Chippendale). Take Two For Levi Johnston (newly released pics - interview video)

levi_johnson_nude_1 If at first you don’t succeed, try try again (see 1st release pics here). That’s the motto of Levi Johnston, who’s first set of Playgirl pics fell a little, um, limp. But he’s back with more and the second effort is looking much better. He’s out of the black and white shower genre and now dressed in well-worn jeans and a pullover unzipped to show off his torso. Or sweatpants and no shirt next to a window. And then a handful where he’s playfully posed with sports gear. Still no Full Monty. But this second set of pics puts the Alaskan teen in a much better light HLN’s Joy Behar talks with Levi Johnston about what it is like to be an icon of the gay community.

Tom Petty Still Has Nightmares: His Father Abused Him And Thought He Was Gay

tom_pettyTom Petty still has nightmares about his violent upbringing and thinks his father thought the rocker was gay. The Free Fallin' singer's dad could never understand his son's love of the arts - and dearly wanted him to be more of a sportsman - but Petty had no interest in playing football or baseball, and hated joining his dad on hunting trips. He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "(My father) was scary and violent. He beat the living hell out of me, and there was constant verbal abuse. "Looking back on it, he probably was disappointed that I was so drawn to the arts. He probably thought I was gay. I wasn't interested in sports. I didn't know the names of any baseball players. I liked films and books and records. "He liked to fish and hunt. He'd drag me on these trips, and it was a nightmare. Shooting something repelled me."

Cher's 'New' Son (Chaz) Says: "I love being a man" (video)

chazbono Now that he’s finally in the body he always felt he belonged in, Chaz Bono says he’s enjoying something that took decades to accomplish. “It’s a long process going back almost a decade. I got clean and sober in 2004 and I couldn’t have done this before that,” Bono, formerly known as Chastity, tells, “Entertainment Tonight” in an interview airing Thursday and Friday. Born the daughter of Cher and Sonny Bono, Chaz, 40, has been undergoing a female-to-male sex change since March, a process that has already had significant physical changes on his body.

“It lowered my voice,” he says. “Fat redistributes, muscle growth, hair growth, sex drive increases.” One thing that didn’t need changing: His mental and emotional concept of himself as fundamentally male. “I always felt like the male from the time I was a child. There wasn’t much feminine about me,” he says. “I believe that gender is something between your ears, not between your legs. That is something I discovered in the early ’90s. It was just a long process of being comfortable enough to do something about it.” It was turning the milestone age of 40 that spurred him to action. “I was turning 40 and I thought it’s now or never. I want to still feel vibrant and be able to enjoy my life in a male body and not wait until I am an old man.”

Interview With Luke Hamill

lukeblackmainleftLuke Hamill has a gorgeous uncut dick, baby blue eyes and light brown hair. He's also one of the employees of the European studio Bel Ami, appearing frequently in videos, training new models and producing and editing Internet Episode videos. He stands over 6ft tall and both tops and bottoms. Luke debuted in gay porn in 2005. BelAmi recently released the interview of my favorite BelAmi Boy the tall, blond and handsome Luke Hamill. The interview was conducted in Los Angeles. He, Dolph Lambert and Josh Elliot were joined by George Duroy himself for a whirlwind trip to San Francisco for the 2009 GAYVN Awards, and to Los Angeles for sightseeing and business.
“I am happy Luke and the boys could come on this trip,” George said after the awards. “They were treated in San Francisco like movie stars. Luke works very hard and it is good for him to come to a new city and meet his fans and be treated like a star.”
Luke is one of Bel Ami’s most popular stars and an integral part of our operations. He carries a lot of responsibility. And for many new models, Luke is the person who forms their first impression of the company. First of all, as their trainer, he has sex with many of them (what a lucky job, eh?) but he also serves as advisor and counselor. We talked with him about how to train a new recruit for filming sex on camera. lukehamill1
Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How long have you been at Bel Ami?
Luke: I have been at Bel Ami five-and-a-half years. I worked for a long time as a model, and for three years I worked behind the scenes. When I started behind the scenes, I began with training new models for work. And then George asked me to shoot for new episodes.
lukehamill3
Q: Do you mean as a cameraman?
Luke: Yes, as a second cameraman. I shot for Sebastian Bonnet, several episodes for a new movie. I also shot during big scenes with Marty Stevens, Lukas Ridgeston and Sebastian. And now my work is about organization [producing] for every big shoot, and also training boys. Every new model who comes to Bel Ami meets with me, and I shoot with them [training] scenes, naked bodies, hard dicks.
interview5
Q: Can you explain what you mean by that?
Luke: The real eye and the camera’s eye are different. So we want to see how the guy looks on camera. Some look better in normal life, and some look better on camera or in a picture.
interview3
Q: Were you interested in working behind the scenes? How did that come about?
Luke: It was chance. Sebastian wanted somebody for second camera for one episode. I told him, “Okay, I have time, I can help you.” My work was good, and he told me he needed help in the summer. I said okay. That was my job for the summer. And that was very good experience. Sebastian is a very good guy. I spent a lot of time with him.
interview2
Q: What did you learn with him?
Luke: He gave me good experience about how he shoots sex, what he looks for when he is shooting. His eye is different. It is very creative work, so many different angles or positions.
interview1
Q: How much creative freedom did you have, or did he instruct you?
Luke: I had half of my own creative freedom, and half of what Sebastian told me to do.

belami1

Q: Do you want to direct on your own?
Luke: No. I sometimes shoot training videos, but not on my own.

belami2

Q: Let’s talk about training a new model. What do you do when you begin training?
Luke: Many guys who come to work for Bel Ami don’t have much experience in their private life. He may never have tried sex with more than one partner. He knows just three positions and nothing more. I show him many positions, and how to kiss. I show them how to suck and to play with the balls. He may have no experience with a guy and so everything is new. I also find within him the craving for sex. Everybody has some craving inside him for harder sex and soft sex in combination.

belami3

Q: How do you bring that out of someone who doesn’t have a lot of sexual experience?
Luke: I have a very short time to meet with him. But we have conversations about his private life and his friends and relationships with family. We talk about how and where our scout found him, and his work and schooling. After these conversations, I know about this guy and if we work with him whether it will be easy or hard. I usually can know if he has something special inside. I need to know this before we shoot together. Josh Elliot sometimes helps me. He will stay in the room and watch and tell the guy when he has a bad position for the camera or where he should put his hands.
Q: It sounds like a lot of work.
Luke: Yes, but this is really good for a new guy because he sees somebody in the room. It’s much easier to have sex with me behind a closed door. If somebody comes to the room, the guy may get nervous. I can show him everything but if he doesn’t like people around him, two or three cameraman and a big crew, then he cannot shoot.
Q: That makes sense, of course.
Luke: Some days I have two or three guys to train and not much time. So I put them together. And if one guy is nervous, but the other two guys are happy, then he is happy, too. It is important because he feels somebody next to him and looking out for him. That is my style of working. Nobody told me how to train these guys. George gave me a chance and I work in this style. I hope my work is good!
