Meet Markus The United States' First Legal Male Hooker!

A brothel in a Nevada desert town has hired the state's first male prostitute, a muscular college dropout who abandoned a brief stint as a porn actor in Los Angeles to become the only legal gigolo in the United States. The Shady Lady Ranch successfully won state and county approval to clear the way for the "prostidude," as Nevada's newest sex worker is already being called. After a slow first week on the job, his first appointments are scheduled for this weekend. The male prostitute — known as "Markus" — has quickly become the center of attention in Nevada's brothel industry. He has been criticized by female counterparts for not being willing to have sex with men. And he created a dustup after telling Details Magazine that his pioneering role in the sex business was "just the same" as civil rights icon Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat and move to the back of the bus. Not surprisingly, he has been forbidden from doing interviews after the remarks. Competing brothel owners also fret that hiring gigolos in Nevada will bring unwanted scrutiny from state officials, potentially tempting them to make prostitution illegal. The competitors have also expressed concerns about sexually transmitted diseases, and worry that female customers can't be inspected as carefully as men are before sex. Markus, 25, described himself as a well-read college dropout and former U.S. Marine from Alabama. He said he drove to Los Angeles to become a porn actor and left after filming two scenes, the first about a month ago. He said he ended up in a homeless shelter near Santa Monica, Calif., after being unable to find another job. 'Empowered' Shady Lady madam Bobbi Davis picked him from about 10 potential hires culled from hundreds of applications, many featuring crude inquiries, according to her husband and co-owner Jim. Part of Markus' appeal was that he was not afraid to deal with heavy publicity. "Whichever woman may walk through that door, she's appreciated," Markus said in his Details interview. "A surrogate lover will love that woman for a whole hour, or however much we charge here, and she'll leave feeling much more empowered and much more confident in herself." Jim Davis told The Associated Press that after reading the article, he and his wife decided that Markus doing interviews was bad for business. Bobbi Davis declined an interview with the AP. The Davises declined to give Markus' real name, which is customary for sex workers in Nevada. Davis said the Shady Lady had received dozens of e-mails expressing interest in the gigolo. He said it took years to establish steady business from truckers, salesmen and other travelers after the brothel opened 17 years ago, and getting paying women customers could take at least a month. "This is a business — if (Bobbi Davis) didn't think she could make more money she wouldn't have done it," Davis said. "Why else would she start something like this? "And if she knew what she was getting into, she probably wouldn't have," he said. Rooms with a theme The yellow-painted Shady Lady compound is more than 30 miles north of Beatty — an unincorporated township of less than 1,200 people between Las Vegas and Reno. The small, fenced-in brothel includes a French-themed foyer that displays a pricing menu — $200 for 40 minutes, $300 per hour. It sits on 40 acres of mostly empty land the Davises originally bought for $11,000, Davis said. Three connected bedrooms are distinctly decorated. One has a heart-shaped hot tub in its bathroom, another has an Asian theme. The brothel's newest space is a disconnected cottage that looks like a roomy studio, with a kitchenette, a wooden bathtub in the bedroom and armrests on the toilet. The cottage cost $50,000 to build, Davis said. Markus plans to use the cottage. 'Viable effort' "It won't be successful," said Arie Mack Moore, owner of the Angel's Ladies Brothel, about two miles north of Beatty. "You can't have both (male and female prostitutes) in the same building or adjacent to each other, in my opinion." Moore claims his business has picked up since Markus was hired, with customers saying they wanted to avoid the Shady Lady because of Markus. A 22-year-old prostitute at Angel's Ladies named "Cuddles" said Markus' unwillingness to see gay males makes the Shady Lady seem sexist and discriminatory. Her brothel services women. "How can you just turn down services because of what someone's preferences is? It comes with the territory. It comes with the business," she said. Davis said that he and his wife aren't interested in establishing a gay male clientele, but it will be up to Markus to decide whether to accept men as customers. Davis said Markus told him that he wouldn't perform for male customers. "All this gay homophobia in this country is horrible," Davis said. "Everybody's so damn scared two men might have sex — it's happening every day in Las Vegas. Not going to happen here, but that's all the big fear, is gay people." 'In the catbird seat' George Flint, a longtime lobbyist for the Nevada Brothel Owners Association, said allowing a male prostitute creates legitimate health concerns. Male customers are thoroughly cleaned and inspected for signs of disease before sex at Nevada's brothels, and he doesn't believe the same "fanaticism" is possible when checking female customers. He also worries about the ramifications for the six other brothels in Nye County and the 24 total in Nevada. "We got an industry in this state right now that's got an investment of somewhere between $50 million and $75 million," Flint said. "And yet Bobbi's in the catbird seat right now where her antics and her procedures and her demands and her goals could potentially bruise an entire multimillion-dollar-a-year industry." Flint said he believed the Shady Lady Ranch, which is not a part of his association, could see a temporary wave of curious female customers, but the experiment will ultimately fail. "I think she truly believes that it's a viable effort, and I'm wondering after four or five days and there haven't been any takers, if she's beginning to wonder if maybe she was wrong," Flint said. "You and I and the rest of the world can sit and debate this damn thing until hell freezes over, but if nobody shows up at her front door, what's it proved?" Story MSNBC via AP

WANTED: Male Hookers

shadyranchThe owner of a Nevada brothel suffering from the recession thinks she has been ignoring about half the market - the half that prefers men. Bobbi Davis is looking for male prostitutes to help expand the clientele at the Shady Lady Ranch, her small roadside brothel about 150 miles north of Las Vegas. Davis says the requests she has received for male prostitutes have come mostly from women, but that she also would welcome business for M4M.
"We've had requests for men in the past, and there's nothing else like this out there."
Indeed, the 25 legal brothels scattered throughout 10 rural Nevada counties are staffed by women and cater to men. The Shady Lady, however, isn't the only one thinking about hiring male prostitutes. Nevada Brothel Association lobbyist George Flint says other brothels have approached him with the idea lately to drum up business. Like Nevada's gambling, hotel and convention industries, the prostitution business has hit hard times. Flint estimates that bordellos have seen a roughly 50 percent drop in revenue since the economy turned sour.
"Business is so bad right now, I think brothels would do anything to survive. Disposable income is just in short supply at the moment," he said.
200306Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss recently planned to open "Heidi's Stud Farm" near Pahrump, but gave up the effort this year after being arrested on felony drug charges. Flint says other brothels have offered male prostitutes over the years, with little success. He argues that the business model for a brothel that caters to women just doesn't pencil out.
"Seducing a woman and seducing a man in a brothel environment are different things completely. One can take a few minutes, the other can take hours. It wouldn't make money," he said.
Davis agrees that women customers could differ significantly from men, though she plans at least initially to keep her current prices for services - $500 for two hours, $800 for three.
"That may change. We're figuring that women may want a longer period of time, maybe a little more romance. They're not quite like men in that respect," she said.
So what about those requests for male prostitutes from men seeking men?
"I can't discriminate, nor would I want to," she said, adding that it would be up to prostitutes to decide whether they entertain any particular guest.
nohookLicensing male prostitutes might be a problem. State law allows for legal prostitutes of both genders, but the health codes that regulate the business largely are written to apply to female prostitutes. That includes a requirement that the working girls have mandatory cervical exams. "It's kind of hard to do that with a man," Davis said. Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo, whose office administers work cards for prostitutes, said he's aware of Davis' plan and has sought legal advice from the district attorney. Meanwhile, Davis is drawing up her help wanted ad. She said she'll be looking for one or two men "in good shape, in their mid-30s to 50s." Asked about the age range, she notes that's another way women differ from men.
"Look at George Clooney, he's 50 and he's still considered a very sexy man. Most don't consider a man washed up by the time he's 50," she said.
Prostitution is outlawed in five Nevada counties, including in the Reno and Las Vegas metropolitan areas, but brothels have operated legally elsewhere in the state since 1971.

Las Vegas bar settles up

snicksplaceSnick's Place seems to be making a settlement for the alleged sex acts in the bar. Back in early January we reported (see story) that the Nevada gambling regulators were alleging that several patrons engaged in sex acts in public areas of the Snick's Place, which advertises itself as the oldest gay bar in Las Vegas. Here is a recent update on this story. On Thursday the Associated Press is reporting that Nevada gambling regulators are recommending a $50,000 fine and a 6-month suspension of a slot machine license to resolve a complaint alleging that several patrons in a Snick's Place engaged in sex acts in public areas of the bar. The settlement signed by Snick's Place owner Dominick Vitale (rumors we hear is that Vitale is related to mafia families who own scores of gay establishments throughout the country, see Five Families) and state Gaming Control Board members would resolve a 7-count complaint filed in December. Each count is punishable by a fine of up to $100,000. Also, the club's license for up to 15 slot machines could have been revoked. surveillancecameraThe proposed settlement with Vitale, will be reviewed by the board's parent state Gaming Commission at a March 19 meeting in Las Vegas. Besides the fine and suspension, the settlement allows for a second license suspension of up to six months if another "significant issue or incident" occurs. Also, video surveillance camera upgrades are required. Vitale's attorney, Bob Lueck, has said Vitale wasn't in the bar when the alleged activity occurred, and after getting reports of the activity he fired a bartender and took other steps to prevent future occurrences. Lueck added that Vitale cooperated with authorities, turning over security videotapes. snickscrowdThe complaint, based on observations by an undercover Control Board agent between late April and mid-June 2008, states that in one case two patrons had intercourse in a public area of the bar, and in other cases patrons were seen engaging in other sex acts. The Control Board said the failure of bar employees to stop the activity "constitutes an unsuitable method of operation and, as such, is grounds for disciplinary action" under Gaming Commission regulations. The various sexual activities by patrons tend to reflect "poorly on the reputation of gaming in the state of Nevada," the complaint added. * Information collected from Associated Press

Moving On (MJ Taylor Special)

mjtmainIt all started when I left to attend the White Party in Palm Springs. What an amazing weekend that was. A few short hours before my flight home to Ohio, the newly discovered Cockyboy from the Cockyboys.com model search that weekend, Cameron Adams,  gave me a spontaneous invite to Vegas and without a second thought I hopped in the car. Living in Vegas was a w e s o m e. I had a crew of really great friends, a cool place to live, it just so happened at that time when I was arriving to Vegas, one of Cameron's roommates was moving out. It was perfect timing. I stayed there for about two months, working on Rentboy.com, dancing, and filming with Cockyboys.com. I really remember saying to my friends who were all Cockyboys, "I'm having the time of my life." That is until May 1st. Gay Pride kicked off and I was booked to dance at Piranha Nightclub. That morning I had a voicemail from my best friend's sister frantically telling me her sister's house is on fire and she's stuck inside. I immediately called my best friend's cellphone where a lady answered the phone and proceeded to tell me that Tabby was in ICU at the local county hospital and she's brain dead. I immediately felt like a thousand different pieces of me died. I dropped from one of my highest points in my life down to rock bottom. Anything that was at all important at the time, or special, all my goals, had all vanished. Nothing mattered. Seriously, nothing. I was completely angry at myself and mostly at her. Of course I was devastated. I don't even really know how to describe it. Me and her had some big plans. I wouldn't even know where to begin to start with what we had in store. Not that it would matter anyway because it is no longer an option. I had to come up with new options. I feel like I was always trying to save her. But I just always failed. I could always be there to have a solution to a problem but it was never a permanent fix. She was sick with addiction to drugs, abuse, sex, alcohol which were all things she thrived on to survive. The way she grew up made her think the abuse was necessary and the drugs and the alcohol came along to make it all absent. Her Dad and her boyfriend are the two biggest drug dealers in town. You can't really help too much in that situation. Her Dad died and her boyfriend got sent to prison which gave her a chance at freedom and took away the drugs.

Tabby was living with me three weeks prior to me going to California but one morning at 3a.m., my house was full of smoke because the kitchen had caught on fire. I kicked her out after that because one of my main rules was don't come home drunk out of your mind or fucked up on drugs. That's where I made my first mistake because instead of trying to help more, I punished her. I didn't know what to do though - I wanted to help her, but I can't let her burn down my house because she's passed out drunk. Don't get me wrong, I didn't abandon her, I still tried to help. I just didn't have any of the things she thrived for. The night before she died, I texted her and said I was coming home in a few weeks to get some more clothes and that I wanted to bring her back with me to Vegas. Have you ever felt like you were so close and then have it all ripped away from you?

After the funeral, I did fly back to Vegas but it just didn't feel the same anymore. I'm not very religious, but one day, a man came up to me in the city and said, "God told me that I have to tell you that he saw her future and it wasn't going to be any better than her past, so he took her." That brought a lot of closure but didn't take away any of the loss and still lets me know that no matter what I would have done, I was going to fail. So although it was closure, it wasn't comforting. This is where I start to lose my way. I left Vegas and flew back to Ohio and then to Davenport, Iowa. I ended up in Malone, Illinois shacking up with some rapper, and then back to Ohio. I then went to LA for Gay Pride, where I stayed in Beverly Hills for a month, then back to Ohio to sit at her grave for her 21st birthday. I left again to Fort Lauderdale for a few months, then I went out to Delray beach, and I finally came to the conclusion to go home, stay home, and face it. Shortly after getting home, I flew to New Orleans to film The Big Easy. Then shortly after getting home from The Big Easy, I met a boy and things started looking up. I've had a lot of time to deal and let things go and I formed some new dreams and definitely have come a long way. I flew back to Las Vegas last month to get some things in order, oddly enough I got a place right around the corner from where I lived before. On Saturday morning, our four month anniversary, me and Jesse, are sticking it all in the car and driving across country to start out in Vegas. I definitely think four months is way too soon for people to start living together as a couple. It's definitely rushing things, and it may not last, but this is now and I'm not doing a cross country relationship, and I'm not living in Ohio, so it's either get left behind or stick together. Frankly, I'm kind of tired of meeting these people and forming bonds and relationships, and then having to part ways. You invest all this time and then get left with nothing. At least we're doing something, going somewhere, and are chasing after the things we want. We're definitely not chasing the same dream, in fact, they are vastly different. So whether this works or not, at least I'm getting back on track and not holding back. I definitely don't plan on letting anything stand in my way and I'll never let something as tragic as that was affect my life so dramatically when it's not necessary. You've got to keep pushin' on.

Tyler is nominated for a 2009 Best Actor award for his role in PZP Productions, The Twink Whisperer. Aaron has just signed to appear in Timeless Twinks and is known to be a blast to hang out with. Bryan & Doug over at Knightboys issued this release tonight - so you boys better get your bags packs and get with it. This is a chance in a lifetime. The Knightboyz of Hyde Park and the BDSM Boyz of Dark Realm invite all of their great fans to join them on location in Las Vegas for the filming of Hyde Park’s Timeless Twinks and Dark Realm’s Nightmare.  The dates for this great opportunity are March 28th through April 4th and is limited to six special guests. The location is an incredible 10,000 square foot mansion in Las Vegas ,  where everyone will be lodged as well as where all the filming will take place. You could be sleeping in the same bed that was used earlier in the day for a scene!  When not witnessing the filming of a scene from Timeless Twinks or Nightmare, you can enjoy sunning with the models out by the pool or maybe even play pool with them in the billiards room. Here are the rules:
1. You are responsible for your own airfare/transportation to and from Las Vegas.  If you would like to assistance picking the best flights, please let us know. 2. Hyde Park Productions/Dark Realm Productions will provide transportation to and from the airport to the location where they will be lodging and filming.  Meals will be provided HPP/DRP, so please let them know if you have any dietary restrictions or if you are a world class chef! 3. You will be able to personally witness most of the filming with the models.  Some filming in tight areas obviously may limit some viewing as well as some very shy models, but you will see plenty of filming. You can make friends with the models, hang out with them by the pool, watch TV and play board games with them and have your photo(s) taken with them.  You might even have the opportunity to help them get ready for the photo shoots and scenes.  The boys don't use fluffers, so don't ask.  You will have plenty of opportunity to see them naked as they love running around without clothes. They do ask guests to wear clothes on set because guest nudity makes the models very uncomfortable. 4. You may bring a camera and video camera for your personal use.  Please be courteous with the models and ask their permission before taking photos of them that are not part of a scene.   5. You may bring a friend, a boyfriend or an escort if you desire. No females will be allowed.   6. You must be at least 21 years of age and not on any sex offenders listing per US law regulating production of adult videos.  All of their models are at least 18 years of age, but not older than 23. 7. Drinking will be allowed on location, although the models will have strict restrictions.  Please do not provide the models with alcohol.  Drug use or possession is strictly forbidden. 8. They want everyone to have a good time.  If you wish to have a local escort “entertain” you, they won’t have an issue with that, but asking their models to do so is strictly off limits. 9. Their models value their privacy, so please do not ask them for their real names or addresses.  A confidentiality agreement will be required for all guests. 10. You cannot get hard or excited on the set.  Just kidding, they wouldn’t be doing their job right if you didn’t!
twinktoystory2coverartfront-134x199The cost is $1,500. This includes being on the set for up to 8 days, all food, lodging, airport pickup and drop off.  The only additional costs you may incur would be if you wanted to go shopping, golfing  or purchasing alcohol, stuff like that. During long days of filming you may be required to buy the producer and director a beer. They believe this amount is very fair because it would cost a lot more than that for just a basic hotel room and food for a week in Las Vegas.  Plus you will be staying in luxury, meeting the models, hanging out with them, watching the filming and learning how everything is done. They have allowed guests on the set twice before and everyone told them it was an experience of a lifetime that they never would forget. This adventure will be no different. They do not expect you to pay the fee upfront although you are free to do so.  They do ask for a deposit of $500 though so they can plan on you coming (in more ways than one).  They only can allow a few guests for obvious reasons so it is important you commit as quickly as possible.  Once they receive your deposit they will assist you with your travel planning and make everything go as smooth as possible.  After your deposit, just make other payments towards the balance whenever you can but no later than March 15th.  Please note that if you wish to bring a partner there is an extra $750 cost.

If you are interested in attending, please email them at ProducerHPP@yahoo.com as soon as possible twinksatplayfront-105x158We sure hope that bed you get to sleep in is cleaned by housekeeping before you tuck in for a nice sleep - from the sound of this it's going to be one big cum-messy place ... then again, I know some of you guys love that kind of treatment, so be sure to ask about the housekeeping optional plan before your arrival. I can hear a couple of you guys now asking, "Who the fuck is Hyde Park?"
