Naked Sydneysiders of all shapes, sizes and colours have gathered on the steps of the Sydney Opera House this morning to be the subjects of an art installation.
About 5,000 people disrobed for Spencer Tunick's work called The Base, which is part of Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.
Tunick is famous for shooting images of people massed together sharing one common element - nakedness.
Those taking part include rugby league players, doctors, teachers and a woman pregnant with twins who will be induced later today.
Participants arrived in the early hours of the morning, excited to be involved in the event.
Shots have been taken of people standing with their hands in the air, embracing and lying down.
The work aims to promote equality and diversity in the community.

When Oprah asked Sarah Palin about Levi Johnston’s Playgirl shoot, she said, “I call it porn.” But is it? These pictures prove that Levi didn’t show us everything — so to speak — and the pictures don’t include any frontal nudity. The pictures of the 19-year old are no more explicit than what you’d see on an episode of Nip/Tuck and less (homo)erotic than an Ultimate Fight Championship match. Some shower shots with a strategically-placed towel, a naked backside and some steamed-up mirror pics. That’s it. While porn doesn’t have to be erotic, it usually does need to be explicit. As Justice Potter Stewart said in his concurring opinion in 1964 obscenity case, “I know it when I see it.” It’s hard to know what Justice Stewart would say about Johnston’s soft-core erotica, but he probably wouldn’t consider it porn either. Not sure what he’d say about Carrie Prejean’s videos. Glancing at the Johnston pics and perusing the free parts of Playgirl.com, it’s easy to think that the porn threshold has been raised and that beefcake pics of a 19-year old baby daddy just aren’t that shocking. You can see more explicit pics on a Google image search of almost any random phrase. Johnston’s decision to strip for Playgirl follows an oddly common script: young person without much other talent taking advantage of a few minutes of fame — or desperate for a little money — and posing naked before the cameras. Women have been doing it for generations and Johnston is just putting his spin on the rather sad tale. Johnston has gotten a lot of attention in gossip and entertainment world, but also plenty of buzz in the gay press and blogosphere. At Advocate.com, the gay news and entertainment site acknowledged that it had been all-Johnston, all-the-time and asked Playgirl marketing director Daniel Nardicio – who founded DList.com, the gay social networking/hook-up site — about Johnston’s gay appeal. Nardicio’s response: “It’s because he’s hot! And it’s political.” While his being “hot” is still up in the air, there’s not doubt that he’s political even if we don’t know a thing about his political beliefs. He was thrust onto the public by Palin and he instantly became a celebrity, even though his only claim was having gotten the candidate’s daughter pregnant. Now, he’s a 19-year old with a kid who has a famous grandmother. His own meth dealing mom just got sentenced to jail for three mom, the grandmother is trashing the father on Oprah, and all he has to show for it is a fickle gay fanbase and some Playgirl shots in a towel. So, is it porn? Probably not to most people, not even most people in Palin’s support base. The Levi Johnston Nude Playgirl Photos Preview
Levi Johnston arrived in New York this week to shoot his upcoming nude photo spread for Playgirl, and in an exclusive interview with Life & Style the Alaskan stud reveals, "I'm as ready as I've ever been."
"It's happening Nov. 13, 14 and 15," Daniel Nardicio, a rep for the man-candy magazine, confirms to Life & Style. "It's going to be glamorous. I wanted to revamp the magazine's image, and Levi's contemporary, hot, athletic and controversial." And he certainly has his fans, including comedian Kathy Griffin. But Levi also has the gay community swooning -- something Playgirl is banking on because it has a sizable gay readership. "I don't have a problem with it," Levi tells Life & Style. "If I'm a gay icon, so be it. I guess it's a compliment."
To prepare for the spread, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound hottie has been hitting the gym and sticking to a strict diet that includes moose meat! And while Levi's hoping all the hard work pays off, he's aware his fame may be fleeting. "I could go out and do movies, maybe one day even end up as a celebrity," he says. "If it doesn't work out, I'll just go back to being a licensed electrician like everyone else in my family."

A Springfield, Virgina man, Eric Williamson has now moved out of the house along Arley Drive. He talked with 9NEWS NOW over the phone about what happened Monday, when he was living here.
"I was in my own home, cooking breakfast, making coffee, packing a box," he said.
He says he was moving out. And because no one was home-- he was doing it naked.
"Apparently some lady had walked across a portion of my lawn, because there's a trail off to the side a ways and its common for people to cut across that area to the sidewalk in front of my house," he said.
That lady was with her 7-year-old son on the way to the bus stop. She called police. But-- is it a crime to be naked in your own home?
Mary Ann Jennings with Fairfax County Police says it's not that Eric was naked. He's in trouble because they say he was flaunting it. "He wasn't merely moving around the house. He was actually standing in an open doorway and standing in front of a pretty large window when she observed him naked," she said. Jennings says police even went to a judge with the allegations first. That judge issued the warrant. "The statute is very clear that there has to be an intention there," she said. Police say Eric showed his goods intentionally. But Eric disagrees. "I mean-I could have been Riverdancing. I'm in my home naked. I can't understand a law that breaks," he said. wusa9.com
