Black Eyed Peas Manager Accused of Pummelling Perez Hilton To Plead Not Guilty

The Toronto lawyer representing the road manager of the Black Eyed Peas said his client will not be pleading guilty to allegations that he beat up celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. Polo Molina, 36, who works for the chart-topping American band, was scheduled to appear at a downtown Toronto court Wednesday afternoon. Instead, Mark Sandler, an affable, veteran Toronto lawyer, stood briefly in court on his behalf. He said the Crown attorneys have provided him with the disclosure which details the allegations against his client. Molina does not have to attend court until the case goes to trial and that may not be for another several months, he said. "He won't be pleading guilty," Sandler later said. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, alleges that Molina punched him in the face outside a Toronto nightclub after the MuchMusic Video Awards on June 22. Hilton immediately sent messages via Twitter indicating that he had been in a fight with the Peas' entourage. Molina subsequently turned himself in to Toronto police and was later charged with assault. Days later, Hilton filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Molina, alleging battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking unspecified damages. The suit said Molina punched Hilton several times, injuring an eye "in what can only be described as a spineless act." Hilton has said Molina was angry with him for making negative comments about the band's latest album, The E.N.D., which debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. pop chart in June. The blogger also has admitted to calling Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am an anti-gay slur at a club the night of the altercation. The criminal case will return to court on Aug. 26. Sues Over Bareback Photos

Oscars Photo RoomMilk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black has filed a lawsuit over intimate photos that were leaked to the public, according to reports. The Oscar-winning writer released a statement in June that images of him engaging in sexual activities were meant to be kept "private". Black is suing Starzlife.com and a man he claims stole the photos from Black's ex-boyfriend for $3 million, claiming he's suffered invasion of privacy, copyright infringement and violation of the right of publicity, among other things. The documents filed in a California Central District court state that the Black asked his sex partner Jeff Delancy to delete any explicit photos he had taken of the two of them, while he admitted that he was aware that video footage of their encounters was in existence. Black claims invasion of privacy and copyright infringement in his lawsuit and is seeking $3m in damages, plus any monies the company made from the distribution of the images. No charges have yet been filed seeking claim from Perez Hilton, who by large distributed the images at a far more grand scale than Starzlife. Sometime back Starzlife removed the Black images from their website.

perez-hiltonThe economy is in very rough shape as anyone with any sense knows.   Charities have been hard pressed to bring in money.  When one actually turns down funds it can only be because they find the actions of the donor absolutely reprehensible.  Perez Hilton created a stir recently when he tweeted and made a video about his alleged physical altercation with Will.I.Am’s manager.  Apparently he either plans on suing or has sued for damages with the intention of donating the proceeds to the Matthew Shepard foundation. Well, the best laid plans of mice and men are oft to go astray. STATEMENT FROM MATTHEW SHEPARD FOUNDATION REGARDING PEREZHILTON.COM
The Matthew Shepard Foundation was surprised to learn this morning via media reports that blogger Perez Hilton (Mario Lavandeira) has announced he plans to donate, to our organization, the proceeds of a lawsuit he is contesting over an altercation which has been widely reported in recent days.   We had no advance notice or contact from Mr. Hilton or his representatives regarding this proposal, nor any communication since he posted this plan to his website. We do not know the details of the lawsuit, whether it has been filed, the nature of his claims or the likely outcome. But because the lawsuit presumably involves the physical attack prompted by Mr. Hilton's admitted use of an anti-gay slur, the Foundation will be unable to accept any funds obtained in such a manner. We very much appreciate the generosity of the offer to support our continuing work to memorialize Matthew through activism in defense of sexual minorities and in favor of understanding, compassion, and acceptance. But because so much of our work involves education to reduce the use of hateful language against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, or those so perceived, it would be inappropriate for us to benefit financially from circumstances in which such a verbal attack was involved. While we applaud Mr. Hilton's apology to the LGBT community and their loved ones for his use of such a slur, we also feel compelled to point out that use of epithets can often lead to physical violence, as it appears it may have in this case, and that the Matthew Shepard Foundation has worked for more than 10 years to bring to people's attention the consequences of hateful or intolerant language. Hilton is  a stain upon the GLBT community. I must applaud the foundation for having the moral conviction to refuse his money. There are some sins that you simply cannot buy away, even in tough financial times.  Since starting his website Hilton has engaged in racist, sexist, and transphobic, behaviour. For this he was dubbed the Queen of mean. Money may satisfy his conscience but it certainly is not enough for everyone.  Even GLADD turned its back on Hilton after he claimed he was so terrified of Will.I.Am’s thug like behaviour that he had no recourse but to use a homophobic slur.  When the foundation alleged that Hilton engages in verbal violence they were very correct.  Language that necessarily devalues another or brings their humanity into question reifies difference and is the basis for many of the crimes that are committed daily against marginalized bodies. Well Hilton, I suppose you can consider this lesson number two in why the language that we use is so important.

Canada Perez Hilton PunchedPolice have charged the tour manager of the Black Eyed Peas with assault after he allegedly punched celebrity blogger Perez Hilton outside a Toronto nightclub. Hilton said he got into an argument with band members Fergie and will.i.am at the Cobra nightclub early Monday morning and was punched outside by Polo Molina, the band's tour manager. They were at the club following a Sunday night video awards show. Molina turned himself in and has been charged with assaulting Hilton, Toronto Police Constable Tony Vella said. Molina is due in court Aug. 5. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, complained about the incident on the microblogging site Twitter. He tweeted at 4 a.m.: "I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke." Hilton, who is openly gay, said in interview with The Associated Press that he called will.i.am a "faggot," a gay slur, inside the club after the musician told the blogger not to write about his band on his Web site. "He was like 'You need to respect me.' He was in my face. He was obviously trying to intimidate me and scare me," Hilton said. "I was like 'I don't need to respect you. I don't respect you and I did say this, and I knew that it would be the worst thing I could possibly say to him because he was acting the way he was. I said 'You know what, I don't respect you and you're gay and stop being such a faggot.'" Canada Perez Hilton PunchedWill.i.am said in a video posting on dipdive.com that he came to Hilton with respect and was called a "faggot." Hilton, who was at the club with Lady Gaga, said he then left the club and was punched from behind. The pop stars and the blogger were among celebrities in Toronto for the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday night. A spokeswoman for the Black Eyed Peas declined comment.

Miley Cyrus appeared nervous and giggly when Ellen DeGeneres asked about her rumored boyfriend, Justin Gaston, during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that aired back in November. Gay, Latino boys, your day has come in the form of Perez Hilton spokesmodeling for Levi’s. (We know, we feel the same way about Ugly Betty.) Queerly called, “Unbuttoned” (cuz you guys can’t keep your pants on), the campaign features Perez’s own webpage (a video clip of it is above) where he treats you to his very own, gay-style, music mix, some stilted, hand waving animation and a pompadour he should sue his stylist over. He also lets us know that “Perez” is just a “character” that he “sometimes plays into.” Like when he’s breathing and/or awake? He also says that his life feels like one big musical. Please, Broadway, no.
